The Tremadog area is now firmly established as one of the finest and most popular climbing areas in North Wales. Almost more than any other area in the country, rock climbing in North Wales continues to progress and expand, both in style, variety and acceptance of what is fitting to be climbed.

This particular book concentrated on the generally low level cliffs to be found in the upper and lower reaches of the Glaslyn.  The upper area is generally know as Nant Gwynant, while those cliffs overlooking the reclaimed estuary of Glaslyn are collectively recognised as being Tremadog

The popularity of these fine crags, with their sunny disposition and striking lines on golden dolerite, has understandably eclipsed the wide variety of outlying crags, but there are many gems to be discovered throughout this region by discerning climbers who are willing to walk a little further from the road.
